MiLB Cardinals … A-River Bandits avoid sweep in Iowa

CLINTON, IOWA–In a game that started Sunday and ended yesterday morning, in the wee a.m. hours, the Quad-Cities River Bandits (A) avoided a sweep by the Clinton LumberKings at Alliant Energy Field.

The Bandits scored in each of their first four innings in the 7-2 victory.

Who did well?

First baseman Carlos Pupo went 3-for-5 with a double.

Ross Oeder hit a home run.

Others who doubled were Peter Kozma, Francisco Rivera, Roberto Espinoza, and Oliver Marmol.

Starting pitcher Richard Castillo earned the win, now 4-1, working 5.2 innings, scattering five hits. Castillo gave up two long balls, walked two, and struck out six.

What next? The River Bandits will start a six-game homestand tomorrow at Modern Woodmen Park.
